You can add modifiers to any of your menu items. Adding consistent tempting modifiers has been shown to increase the price of customer orders.
Modifiers can serve many purposes. They can be used for:
Upselling side dishes or sauces
Offering different sizes of your products
Vegan/gluten-free options
Bundles and meal deals
2-for-1 offers
To add modifiers go to Stores/Menu > Edit menu > Edit item > Modifiers > Create new group > Add an option > Save modifiers > Save changes

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Go To Your Item
First, navigate to your menu by clicking on “Menus” on the sidebar or by clicking on “Edit menu” on your store window.
Find the item you want to add modifiers to and click on “Edit”.
Step 2: Create New Modifier Group
Click on “Modifiers” on top of the pop-up box.
Click on “Create a new group” to make a new modifier group
Add a name for your modifier group then click “Add an option” to create your modifier items.
Step 3: Create Modifier Items
Add the name and price for your modifier item. You can also edit other modifier item details by clicking on the edit icon beside the in stock toggle.
Modifiers can be optional, required, mutually exclusive, or not.
Optional - Set the minimum number of modifiers in that category to zero.
Required (e.g. half-pint, pint) - Set the minimum number of modifiers in that category to one.
Mutually exclusive (e.g. small, medium, large) - Set the maximum number of modifiers in that category to one.
Once done, click on “Save Modifiers” then click “Save Changes”.
Step 4: (Optional) Add Existing Modifier Groups to Items
You can also add existing modifier groups created for other items into whichever item you choose.
Click on “Use an existing group” and it should show the list of existing modifier groups for all items.
To add a modifier group to the item, simply click on “Add to product”.
Once done, click on “Save Changes”
Step 5: (Optional) Track Inventory For Modifiers
You can also keep track of your modifiers by using the “Track Inventory” feature.
Click on the pen icon to enter the edit modifier popup. Then toggle on “Track Inventory” and add the stock count for that modifier item.
Click on “Save changes” once done.
