Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Star Micronics MC Print 3/MC Print 2 Set Up

  1. Download Star Quick Setup Utility on your phone or tablet:

  2. Connect your printer via LAN cable to your router.

Note: Storekit uses cloud printing so make sure to secure a LAN cable to connect the printer to the router. If your router is not nearby or you're operating from a food truck for example, a WIFI extender or a wireless LAN adapter with an ethernet port will also work.

  3. Open Star Quick Setup Utility on your phone or tablet.

Note: Make sure that your device is connected to the same network as your printer.

    1. Press: "Selected Printer". You will now be able to register your printer.

Note: The printer should have a steady green light before you can select a printer, otherwise it will not show up.

    2. Once you have selected your printer, go to: "Printer Settings"

    3. In Printer Settings, select: "Star CloudPRNT settings"

    4. Type in printer default password: ‘public’. Then create your own password. You will be using the newly created password from now on, so make a note of it. Then enable CloudPRNT Service.

    5. Make sure there is no space before or after the text. Set polling time to 5 sec.

    6. Press: "Apply"

    7. Now Return to ‘Printer Settings’. Select: ‘Firmware Update’. Download the latest version of the Firmware, and Update your printer.

    8. Make sure to take note of the printer MAC address. You will need it to connect your printer to your store on StoreKit.

Step 2: Connect Printer on Storekit

  1. Go to the storekit dashboard and log in.

  2. Then go to your store settings and click on "Direct Printing"

  3. In the printer settings, click on "Connect new printer"

  4. Add your printer details:

    1. Select your printer Model

    2. Select your text size, choose type of printing (Auto print or Manual)

    3. Choose number of copies (up to 4 copies), add buffer if necessary

    4. Enter printer’s Mac address (from step H), click on "Confirm printer".

    5. Lastly, click on "Add printer".

  5. Enter the confirmation code (a ticket with a four-digit code automatically prints once the printer is added successfully).

If the set up was done correctly, you should now see your printer in Printer settings.

Troubleshooting: Common Issues & Fixes

The confirmation code ticket didn't print.

It is possible a step was missed or done incorrectly during the printer setup on the Star Quick Setup Utility app. Review the set up again and make sure to follow the guide properly. For the server URL and polling time especially, double-check that there is no space before or after the URL and polling time is set to 5 seconds. Also make sure to enter the correct printer MAC address on the printer details in storekit.
